Each validly registered Charge Slip with a minimum of RM200 in a single transaction will qualify for one (1) entry into the Program Contest. Each Registered Cardholder entered in the Program Contest is eligible to win one prize only.

Promotion dates
Entry purchases must be made between 1 September 2013 and 31 December 2013. Completed entries must be received via post or email by January 2014.



There are a total of eight (8) prizes to be won in the Program Contest (each a “Prize”). Each month two (2) winners will be selected for the Program Contest.

● The Prize consists of a shopping spree valued at RM10,000 for each selected winner.
● The shopping spree consists of a one day shopping excursion in Kuala Lumpur at MasterCard’s partner outlets which is GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and/or equivalent outlets to be selected by MasterCard at its absolute discretion.

At the chosen outlet, the winner will be entitled to purchase goods up to an amount predetermined by MasterCard for which the goods will be paid for by MasterCard. The total amount of money which shall be made available by MasterCard to the winner to spend during the shopping spree will not exceed RM10,000. Any unspent balance at any outlet is not refundable or exchangeable for cash and will be forfeited.

If the winner wishes to spend more than the predetermined amount at any of the outlets selected by MasterCard, he/she must pay for such excess amount using his/her MasterCard Card. The shopping spree will take place on a weekday (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) a date (between 15 March 2014 and 30 April 2014) to be set by MasterCard at its absolute discretion, MasterCard will notify the winner of the date for the shopping spree at the time of notification to the winner that he/she has won the Prize.

In the event the winner is unable to attend the shopping spree, the Prize will be awarded to another Registered Cardholder in accordance with the process set out in clause 10.1.

● The combined value of the Prizes is RM80,000.

● All-out-of pocket expenses, meals, travel insurance, visas, travel expenses (including travelling to Kuala Lumpur for the shopping spree) and accommodation expenses, fuel surcharges, air travel taxes, transfers, and any other ancillary costs, except as specifically stated otherwise in these terms and conditions, incurred by a winner and his/her nominated guest are the responsibility of the individual prize winner and, where applicable, him/her nominated guest.

● Participants shall be solely responsible for any taxes or duties payable by them as a result of their participation in this Contest or winning or using any of the prizes.

● The Prize is subject to further terms and conditions set by the Prize suppliers that MasterCard may choose at its absolute discretion. MasterCard is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by any winner or guest as a result of the conduct of the Prize suppliers or otherwise as a result of the winner or guest accepting and/or using the Prize, except for any loss, damage or injury which is due to the negligence or willful misconduct of MasterCard or which otherwise cannot be excluded by law.

Welcome to the MasterCard Debit & Prepaid 2013 Program (“Program”). Please read these terms and conditions carefully before registering in the Program or using this Internet site and keep them for your records. By accessing this site, you agree to these terms and conditions and any operating rules and policies that may be published by MasterCard, and which may be amended from time to time. These terms and conditions set forth the terms applicable to your use of the Program. MasterCard may change these terms and conditions at any time without notice and any such changes are effective when posted on this site. By using the Program you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of the terms and conditions of the Program and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. You should print and retain a copy of these terms and conditions for your records by using the print functionality in your browser. In these terms and conditions, unless the context otherwise requires:

“Card” shall include, without limitation, any bank card, debit card, prepaid card and any account or financial payment systems functionality or features associated with same.

“Cardholder” means a person to whom a MasterCard Card is issued from an Issuing Bank operating in Malaysia.

“Charge Slip” means any purchase receipt evidencing a Qualifying Transaction.

“Corporate Card” means any MasterCard branded Card issued by a corporation to its personnel for use.

“Issuing Bank” means any bank operating in Malaysia that issues a MasterCard Card.

“MasterCard”, when used as a noun, means MasterCard Asia/Pacific and its affiliated entities and, when used adjectivally, refers to the MasterCard® brand.

“MasterCard Card” means a debit or prepaid Card bearing the name, logotype, hologram, service marks, trademarks or devices of MasterCard (including, without limitation, those relating to Maestro, Cirrus and Mondex) and providing the functionality associated with the same.

“MasterCard Asia/Pacific” means MasterCard Asia/Pacific Pte Ltd (MAPPL).

“Participating Merchant” means any merchant, third party operator, service provider or supplier engaged by MasterCard to supply the Rewards Program and Program Contest.

“Earn Period” means transactions with Merchants, during the period from 1 September 2013 to 31 December 2013 (both dates inclusive)

“Program Website” means the website or such other website as MasterCard may establish for the Program.

“Rewards Program” means the monthly redemption of RM50 Giant Malaysia voucher.

2 “Program Period” means the period starting 1 September 2013 and ending 15 January 2014.

“Program Registration” means the submission which a Cardholder must register via the Website or SMS and maintain in connection with this Program during the Program Period as set out in clause 2.0.

“SMS” means short message service.

“Website Registration Period” means the period within which a Cardholder may register his/her charge slip to participate in the Program, being the period starting 1 September 2013 and ending 15 January 2014.

“SMS Registration Period” means the period within which a Cardholder may register their charge slip to participate in the Program, being the period starting 1 October 2013 and ending 15 January 2014.

“Shopping Voucher” means the RM50 Giant Shopping Voucher that the Registered Cardholder may redeem based on the terms for the Rewards Program set out in clause 4.0.

“The Prize” means shopping spree valued at RM10,000 for each selected winner during the Contest Period set out in clause 8.0.

“Contest Period” means the contest starting 1 September 2013 and ending 31 December 2013.
“Program Contest” means the mechanics described in clauses 7.0 to 11.0.
“Qualifying Criteria” for the Rewards Program are set out in clause 4.0 and Program Contest in clause 7.0.

“Qualifying Transaction” means all Registered Card transactions of minimum RM200 using electronic payment systems including Point of Sale and online transactions during an Earn Period, excluding cash advances, cash disbursements, ATM withdrawals, annual fee charges, interest charges, balance transfer charges. Such transactions must be made in Ringgit Malaysia (RM).

“Registered Card(s)” means a MasterCard Card registered by a Registered Cardholder for the Program.

“Registered Cardholder” means a Cardholder who has registered their charge slip for the Program.

1.1 Participation in the Program is open to Cardholders aged 18 years or older whose Registered Card accounts are maintained in good standing at all times while the Cardholder is registered for the Program. For the avoidance of doubt, whether a relevant account is in good standing is determined by the relevant Issuing Bank at its sole discretion except for the following persons who shall NOT be eligible to participate in the Program:-

(a) permanent or temporary employees and staff of MAPPL, MAPPL’s promotion agencies, advertising agencies and public relations agencies and their respective associated and affiliated companies related to or connected with the Program; and

(b) the immediate family members of the permanent and temporary employees and staff of MAPPL, MAPPL’s promotion agencies, advertising agencies and public relations agencies and their respective associated and affiliated companies related to or connected with the Program. For the purposes hereof, “immediate family members” includes spouse, parent, child (including adopted child and step-child), brother, sister and the spouse of the child, brother or sister.

1.2 Participation in the Program means that Cardholders who are primary Cardholders irrevocably consent and authorize MasterCard to contact their Issuing Bank, and their Issuing Bank to confirm to MasterCard that their Registered Card account is in good standing.

1.3 Notwithstanding any matters stated in this clause, MasterCard may in its absolute discretion determine whether a MasterCard Card is eligible to participate in the Program and disqualify any MasterCard Card and/or Cardholder from participating in the Program without providing any reasons therefore.

2.1 In order to participate in the Program, Cardholders who satisfy the eligibility criteria set out in clause 1 must register for the Program during the Program Period and SMS Registration Period via the Program Registration.

2.2 To register via:
a. Program Website-To register using the Program Website, Cardholder must provide his/her name as per NRIC, contact number, email address, amount spent on the receipt, receipt date, receipt time, the first six (6) digits and the last four (4) digits of the MasterCard Card used for the registered transaction.

b. SMS-To participate by SMS starting from 1st October 2013, Cardholder must provide the first 6 digits and last 4 digits of the MasterCard Card charged, the transaction amount in RM and the transaction date via SMS. It is each Registered Cardholder’s responsibility to ensure that all details they provide during the registration are accurate and complete.

Cardholders using any Malaysian telephone service provider (Maxis, Digi, Celcom and Umobile cell or mobile phone users only) must send their entry via SMS to: 33310.
Each SMS entry will be charged RM0.50 in addition to any operator charges upon delivery of reply message.

2.3 As part of the registration, Cardholders must register all their qualifying Charge Slips individually in the Program Registration. Upon registration, every qualified entry submitted will be serialized.

2.4 The Program consists of two parts: the Rewards Program and the Program Contest. By registering in the Program, Registered Cardholders automatically register for both parts of the Program.

3.1 The registration of a Corporate Card as part of the Promotion will be accepted by MasterCard provided the corporation that maintains the relevant Corporate Card account has not declined participation and the Corporate Card account is in good standing as determined by the Issuing Bank.

3.2 If a Cardholder has registered a Corporate Card for the Promotion and that card is subsequently cancelled by the Cardholder, by the corporation that maintains the Corporate Card account or by the relevant Issuing Bank, then under such circumstances the registered Corporate Card shall be disqualified from this Promotion.


4.1 In order to qualify for the Rewards Program, Cardholders must collect and input Charge Slips in the Program Registration.

4.2 Cardholder is required to charge a minimum of RM200 in a single transaction using MasterCard Card.

4.3 Every time a Cardholder makes a Qualifying Transaction using a MasterCard Card, he/she is required to enter the purchase value of Charge Slips into the Program Registration via the Program Website or SMS. For the avoidance of doubt, Charge Slips obtained by a Cardholder must be registered in the Program Registration 15 days before or on the closing date. For example: A Cardholder makes a Qualifying Transaction in the month of September 2013, he/she must register the Charge Slip into the Program Website before or on 15 October 2013. If the charge slip is not registered before or by the closing date, the charge slip will no longer be valid. Each Qualifying Transaction must be submitted individually by the Cardholder in the Program Registration. The details are specified in the table below.

4.4 The purchase value of a Charge Slip recorded in the Registered Cardholder’s Program Registration is the total amount of the purchase evidenced on the Charge Slip including discounts.

4.5 The Registered Cardholder’s Program Registration will record the Registered Cardholder’s purchase values of the individual Charge Slips. The Cardholder is responsible for the data submission of Charge Slips to the Program via the Program Website or SMS. The Cardholder must keep the original Charge Slips for verification purposes. Online purchases require an Issuing Bank account statement for the Registered Card or invoice for verification purposes. If a Cardholder makes a return on a purchase or a Qualifying Transaction is reversed, for which he/she has entered the Charge Slip in the Program Registration, the purchase value of the relevant Charge Slip will be disqualified. For Rewards Program enquiries, a Cardholder may contact our customer service team during the Program Period at 03-5635 1391 from Mondays to Fridays (from 10am to 5pm) excluding public holidays in Malaysia and state holidays in Selangor.

4.6 If a Registered Card is disqualified for any reason under these terms and conditions, the purchase value of any Charge Slips earned by using that Registered Card will be removed from the Program Registration and the Registered Cardholder will not be eligible to make any redemption based on that transaction.

4.7 If the Program is cancelled, no refund will be provided to the Registered Cardholders for any validly registered Charge Slips. However, if the Program is cancelled MasterCard will do its best to provide Registered Cardholders thirty (30) days’ prior notice.

4.8 The purchase values submitted to a Program Registration are not transferable, redeemable for cash or credit and have no cash value. There is no limit on the number of Charge Slips that a Registered Cardholder can input into the Program Registration. However only one (1) qualified entry from each Cardholder will stand a chance to win the Shopping Voucher.

4.9 MasterCard is not responsible for any errors related to the Program Registration.

4.10 Charge Slips cannot be used for any other Rewards Program that may be available through MasterCard.

4.11 MasterCard reserves the right to monitor all Program Registration activity. If a Program Registration is subject to suspicious activity or fraud, the entry may be disqualified at MasterCard’s discretion and the relevant Registered Cardholder may lose the purchase values entered to his/her Program Registration.
