“Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations – to boldly go where no man has gone before.”
And with that iconic monologue (arguably the most famous opening monologue in television history) the world of Star Trek began. But stop there, and FORGET EVERYTHING you know about Star Trek. For, come May 8, the popular franchise will truly go where it has not gone before under the direction of J.J. Abrams (TV’s Alias, Lost).
Be among the first to watch the re-imagining of Star Trek by joining AMBP at the AMBP First Contact at Studio V gathering and win loads of cool gadgets!
Taking a leaf from Captain Kirk’s log, the AMBP is boldly going where no blogger has gone before. They’re going to Studio V. 😉
Yes, they’re having their annual bloggers gathering on May 1, 2009 at The Star Media Group’s multimedia outlet located at the Rainforest area of 1 Utama’s New Wing.
Thanks to United International Pictures, the gathering, themed after Star Trek will be followed by a Special Advance Screening of filmmaker J.J. Abrams’ reimagining of the iconic series, a whole week before the much-awaited worldwide release on May 8, 2009. Preview clips of the movie can be seen on our Star Trek Tidbits page.
And if you are a member of the AMBP, you too are cordially invited to both the gathering and special screening. But alas, while AMBP would love to host each and every one of you, they can’t do so, simply because the space, unlike the final frontier that Capt. Kirk and his crew explore so efficiently, is rather limited. That is to say that Studio V and the cinema hall can only fit so many.
As such they’re opening this up to 100 bloggers only, and they will need you to tell them in advance if you’re interested to attend the gathering and watch the show.
Contest Alert! Naturally, AMBP will need your help to spread the news of this event on your blog, highlighting the movie Star Trek. This doubles up as a contest and while you don’t have to enter the contest to win invites to the gathering/screening, it’ll help.
Feel free to use material – photos and vids – from our Star Trek Tidbits page to make your entry more attractive..
At the get-together, they’ve lined up activities galore, with goodies to be won and fun to be had. And that’s besides the natural reward of being able to meet up with your peers!
Since they need active participation, AMBP will also need you to confirm if you’re going to take part in the activities during the gathering. Trust me, it’ll be a fun outing, so put your name in the lot, and hope for the best!
Oh, and light refreshments will be provided, so don’t pack lunch. 😉
ps/ I dunno about you guys but don’cha think that Spock ears look 99% like Legolas? Does this mean the fairy actually came from another planet? Hmm… 😛
