Terms And Conditions
1. This Citibank Berhad (“Citibank”) “Citibank Electronic Statement” Promotion (“Promotion”) will run from 1 November 2008 to 31 January 2009 (both dates inclusive) (“Promotion Period”).
2. Subject to clause 3 below, all principal Citibank credit cardholders who are residents of Malaysia and who have not previously enrolled to receive Electronic Statements are eligible to participate in this Promotion. (“Eligible Customers”).
3. The following persons are NOT eligible to participate in this Promotion:
(a) Permanent and/or contract employees of Citibank (including its subsidiaries and related companies) and their immediate family members
(b) Holder(s) of Citibank credit card(s) not issued in Malaysia;
(c) Holder(s) of Citibank credit card(s) who is (are), in default of facilities granted by Citibank at any time from the start of the Promotion Period until the winner selection process is completed, subject to Citibank’s discretion.
(d) Representatives and/or agents (including advertising and promotion agents) of Citibank and their immediate family members.
4. Eligible Customers who enrol for the Promotion:-
(a) by login via the Citibank Online Website at url address
(b) via other channels including but not limited to submitting the e-statement enrolment form, sending a short messaging service text (“SMS”), fax, post and electronic mail;
shall be entitled to participate in this Promotion.
5. Where an Eligible Customer has successfully enrolled to receive Electronic Statements for a particular account, his/her other accounts that are linked to that account will be automatically enrolled to receive Electronic Statements.
6. All Eligible Customers who have successfully enrolled to receive Electronic Statements during the Promotion Period will be entitled to receive one (1) entry to the Promotion.
7. The top two hundred (200) Eligible Customers with the highest spending on Qualifying Transactions throughout the Promotion Period (based on the total spending per Eligible Customer regardless of the number of Citibank credit cards held by them) will be shortlisted at the end of the Promotion.
8. Qualifying Transaction refers to retail purchases both local and international, online bill payment, mobile bill payment and new easy payment plan (but not installment). Split Qualifying Transactions are disallowed and shall be disqualified. For the avoidance of doubt, Split Qualifying Transactions mean Qualifying Transactions that are not accumulated in a single receipt.
9. The short-listed Eligible Customers will then be contacted by Citibank or its appointed representatives ONCE for a maximum of three (3) times during office hours from 9am to 5pm from Mondays to Fridays to answer a series of five (5) questions at the latest telephone numbers furnished to Citibank by the short-listed Eligible Customer as shown in Citibank’s records. In the event Citibank or its representative is unable to contact the short-listed Eligible Customer after three (3) attempts, the short-listed Eligible Customer will be deemed disqualified and the next Eligible Customer will be short-listed instead.
Citibank reserves the right to disqualify such persons from participating in the Promotion.
10. The short-listed Eligible Customers who answer all of the questions correctly in the fastest time will be declared as the Grand Prize Winner (“the Grand Prize Winner”). The following Prizes are given out based on the short-listed Eligible Customers’ time ranking in the question-and-answer session:

11. If the short-listed Eligible Customer is unable to answer the questions correctly, he/she will be deemed disqualified and the next applicable Eligible Customer will be short-listed instead.
12. In the event of a draw for a Prize, the Eligible Customer with the highest collective amount spent as Qualifying Transactions based on Citibank’s records will be selected to win the relevant Prize.
13. Citibank will notify the winners either in writing or by phone latest by 31 March 2009. If a short-listed Eligible Customer does not receive any notification in writing or via phone from Citibank by 31 March 2009, the short-listed Eligible Customer is NOT deemed to be selected as a winner.
14. The following additional terms and conditions shall apply to the Prizes:
(a) All cost in respect of the installation expenses, transportation expenses as well as any other expenses, in relation to all the Prizes shall be borne solely by the Prize Winners;
(b) Citibank retains the sole discretion to select the colour of the Prizes;
(c) The Prizes will be handed over to the Prize Winners at a date and location to be stipulated by Citibank;
(d) Citibank expressly excludes and disclaims any representations, warranties, or endorsements, expressed or implied, written or oral, including but not limited to, any warranty of quality, merchantability of fitness for a particular purpose in respect of all the Prizes;
(e) All the Prizes are subject to availability from the supplier. Citibank reserves the right at its absolute discretion to substitute any one of the Prizes with another model of similar retail value at any time without prior notice;
(f) All the Prizes do not include any accessories or items that are shown in all materials, as they are for illustrative purposes only;
(g) The title in the Prizes and any risks of losses or damages to the Prizes passes to the Prize Winners upon handover of the Prizes to the Prize Winners. Citibank shall not be liable for or obliged to recognize or replace any defective, lost, damaged or stolen of the Prizes.
(h) Citibank does not accept any liability whatsoever (including negligence) with respect to injury, losses, damages or accidents arising from the use of the Prizes by the Prize Winners;
(i) The Prizes are non-transferable to any 3rd party, non-exchangeable for up-front cash, credit or kind, whether in part or in full.
(j) In the event that the Winner is disqualified for whatsoever reason, the next shortlisted Eligible Customer who provide all-correct answers to the questions will win the relevant Prize;
(k) Winners are only entitled to receive the Prize once throughout the Promotion Period.
15. In the event that the Prizes are awarded to and received by persons who:
(a) are not Eligible Customers in the Promotion; and/or,
(b) have committed or are suspected of committing any fraudulent or wrongful acts in relation to use of their Citibank credit card(s) and/or any transactions made thereof;
Citibank reserves the right to disqualify such persons from participating in the Promotion and/or from redeeming or using the Prizes.
16. Citibank shall not be liable for any default in respect of the Promotion due to any act of God, war, riot, strike, lockout, industrial action, fire, flood, drought, storm, technical or system failures or any event beyond the reasonable control of Citibank.
17. Citibank’s decisions on all matters relating to the Promotion, including the determination of Eligible Customers shall be final and binding and no further correspondence or attempts to dispute such decisions will be entertained.
18. Citibank reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend the Promotion without any prior notice. For the avoidance of doubt, any cancellation, termination or suspension by Citibank of the Promotion shall not entitle the Eligible Customers to any claim or compensation against Citibank for any and all loss or damage suffered of incurred by the Eligible Customer as a direct and indirect of the act of cancellation, termination or suspension.
19. For the avoidance of doubt, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any brochure or other promotional materials advertising the Promotion.
20. Citibank reserves the right at its absolute discretion to vary, delete or add to any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice.
21. To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Citibank or any of its officers, servants, employees, representatives and/or agents (including without limitation, any third party service providers that Citibank may engage for purposes of the Promotion) be liable for any loss or damages (including without limitation, loss of income, profits or goodwill or indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive or special damages of any party including third parties) howsoever arising whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise in connection with the Promotion, even if Citibank has been advised of the possibility of such damages in advance, and all such damages are expressly excluded.
22. By participating in the Promotion, Eligible Customers agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and any decisions of Citibank, and the Eligible Customers hereby give their consent to and authorise Citibank to disclose their particulars to third party service providers engaged by Citibank for the purposes of this Promotion, if any. Citibank warrants that the disclosure of such particulars to any third party service providers, if any, shall be limited to the Eligible Customer’s name, address and telephone number and shall be used only in relation to and for the purposes of this Promotion.
