The CIMB Bank Berhad (13491-P) (“CIMB”) “Overseas Spend Promotion” Contest (the
“Contest”) shall commence on 1st August 2008 and shall end 31st December 2008 (both dates
inclusive) (“Contest Period”).
1. The Contest is open to all CIMB and Direct Access MasterCard credit cardmembers
(“Cardmembers”) except for the following persons who shall NOT be eligible to participate
in the Contest: –
a. Permanent and/or temporary staff or employees of CIMB (including its subsidiaries
and related companies) and their immediate family members; and
b. Representative and/or agents (including advertising and promotion agents) of CIMB
and MasterCard Worldwide.
2. There will be ten (10) prizes comprising holiday credits worth RM6,500 each (“Holiday
Credit”). The Holiday Credits can only be used to purchase air tickets and approved
holiday packages from Holiday Tours and Travel Sdn. Bhd. and are valid only for 6 months
from the date of issue. The balance of any unused Holiday Credit will be credited into a
card, to be issued specially by CIMB, which may only be used for overseas retail
transactions. The use of such card, specially issued by CIMB, shall be subject to terms and
conditions imposed by CIMB and these terms and conditions may change from time to
3. Eligible transactions: Every RM100 charged in a single receipt to the CIMB MasterCard
credit card (“Card”) during the Contest Period entitles the Cardmember to one (1) chance
of winning the Holiday Credit. Transactions made in Malaysia and in Malaysian Ringgit
are not valid for the Contest. The conversion will be calculated according to CIMB’s
prevailing currency exchange rate for the transacted currency.
4. CIMB will randomly pick ten (10) potential winners from the group of Cardmembers
eligible to participate in the Contest. The organizer will contact the selected potential
winners, at any time deemed appropriate, by telephone on the telephone number provided
by the Cardmembers. These selected potential winners will have to answer a predetermined
question. The first ten (10) selected potential winners who answer the predetermined
question correctly will each win a Holiday Credit.
If any of the selected Potential winners fail to answer the pre-determined question
correctly, CIMB reserves the right to pick another Cardmember, who has made an eligible
transaction to answer the pre-determined question to win the Holiday Credit. Prizes will be
delivered to the winners by January 31, 2009 or such other date which CIMB may deem fit.
One (1) Cardmember may only win a maximum of one (1) Holiday Credit during the
Contest Period.
5. Selected Cardmembers who, for whatever reason(s), neglect or fail to answer the telephone
call from the organizer within such time as shall be determined at the absolute discretion of
the organizer of the Promotion, shall be disqualified from the Contest. CIMB shall not be
responsible to the selected potential winner(s) for any loss (including loss of opportunity
and consequential loss flowing therefrom) and/or any damage suffered in the event the
Cardmember’s telephone number in CIMB’s record is not current or correct or the Prize is
confiscated or forfeited from the selected Cardmember for any reason whatsoever. In
addition, CIMB shall not be responsible to the winners for any loss, damage and/or injury
suffered during (or injury resulting from) any trip redeemed or purchased using a Holiday
6. The Cardmember’s credit card account must be in good standing and the Cardmember must
not be in breach of any of the terms and conditions contained in the CIMB credit card
agreement. Otherwise, CIMB may, at its sole and absolute discretion, disqualify the
Cardmember from the Contest and CIMB reserve the right not to allow the Cardmember to
claim any prizes.
7. CIMB reserves the right to publish and/or display materials and/or information, including
but not limited to the names and photographs of the winners for marketing, advertising and
publicity purposes in any manner it deems appropriate.
8. CIMB reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend the Contest without any prior
notice. For the avoidance of doubt, any cancellation, termination or suspension by CIMB of
the Contest shall not entitle the Cardmembers or the winners to any claim or compensation
against CIMB for any and all losses or damages suffered or incurred by the Cardmembers
or the winners as a direct or an indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or

10. By participating in the Contest, it is deemed that the Cardmembers agree to be bound by
