PRIZE: A total of 3 prizes will be given out weekly according to the sequence set. i.e. free petrol, free groceries, followed with free electricity. Prize winners will be given prizes in the following manner:
a. Winners of the Petrol Vouchers will choose only one (1) petrol company they want to pump from. After choice has
been made, RHB will remit RM5,000 worth of petrol vouchers in two (2) phases to the winner. The first phase is for
the first six (6) month period and the second phase is for the second six (6) month period. e.g. If Winner A wins and
wishes to pump from Shell, then RHB will provide Winner A the first phase of Shell petrol vouchers worth RM2,500,
valid from 1st September 2008 to 28th February 2009. The second phase of Shell petrol vouchers is worth RM2,500 and
will be valid from 1st March 2009 to 31st August 2009)
b. Winners of the Grocery Vouchers will choose which hypermarket or supermarket vouchers they wish to obtain from
the following five (5): Giant, Tesco, Carrefour, The Store or Jusco. After choice has been made, RHB will remit
RM5,000 worth of chosen hypermarket vouchers to the winner.
c. Winners of the Electricity prizes will be required to submit their monthly electricity bill to the nearest branch for
reimbursement. RHB will credit the amount into winners account on a monthly basis (subject to a maximum
reimbursement period of up to 12 months or an aggregate sum of RM5,000 whichever comes first).

What is the Campaign about?
Under this campaign, customers who place a minimum Our cof of RM10,000 in a 24-month MaxFD will be entitled to participate in a Contest to win petrol vouchers, grocery vouchers or electricity reimbursement. Every RM10,000 deposit, you are entitled to one (1) contest entry.

What is the duration of this Campaign?
The Campaign will run from 1 July 2008 until 31 August 2008 or until a total of RM200 million in MaxFD deposits is received.

Who is eligible?
This campaign is open to Consumer, Commercial and Corporate customers who make a minimum deposit placement of RM10,000 in MaxFD. All deposit placements must be made with new funds.
It is not applicable to staff of RHB Bank and RHB Banking Group and their immediate family members.

What is MaxFD?
MaxFD is a 24-month Fixed Deposit that gives you the advantage of a fixed rate with the extra benefit of an automatic rate increase every 6 months as follows:
First 6 months – 3.70% p.a.
Next 7th month to 12th month – 3.80% p.a.
Subsequent 13th month to 18th month – 4.00% p.a.
Remaining 19th month to 24th month – 4.50% p.a.

What is the minimum placement amount for MaxFD?
The minimum deposit placement for MaxFD is RM10,000.
6.

Is there any maximum placement amount?
The maximum placement amount is RM500,000 per Individual customer and RM1.0 million per Corporate/Commercial customer.

Can I take out my interest every 6 months?
Interest earned every 6 months will be credited to your RHB Current or Savings account on interest due date. Therefore, you will have to maintain either a Current or Savings account with RHB Bank.
8.

Is partial withdrawal of MaxFD allowed?
No, MaxFD is a Fixed Deposit contracted for a tenure of 24 months. Withdrawals made before the maturity date will cause the contract to be terminated.
9.

Is there any penalty for premature withdrawal?
For premature withdrawal, interest will be paid based on 50% of the rate contracted at the point of withdrawal for the completed months subject to the completion of 3 months from the date of placement.
10.

Can I renew/rollover my MaxFD upon maturity?
No, MaxFD Account will be closed upon maturity and all outstanding balance will be credited to your designated RHB Current or Savings Account.
11.

How do I enter the Contest?
After placing the deposit, you will need to send an SMS to 39993 containing the campaign code RHBMAXFD, your IC number and name (for companies: Company Registration No, Company and Director’s name) to participate in the Contest on the same day of the deposit placement.

For example:
For companies: RHBMAXFD<space>12345T<space>ABCSDNBHD<space>RAJU and send to 39993.
For individual: RHBMAXFD<space>600101010101<space>RAJU and send to 39993.
12.

Do I need to fill up an entry form?
No, you will only need to send an SMS and no Contest Entry Form is required.
13.

If I make a deposit placement of RM50,000 in MaxFD, do I need to send five SMS?
No, you will only be required to send one SMS. You will be accorded the number of entries based on the amount deposited.
14.

Am I entitled to participate in this Contest if I transfer funds from my existing RHB Bank Current or Savings Accounts to place in MaxFD?
No, all MaxFD placement must be made with new funds. Transfers between existing accounts will not be eligible to participate in the contest.
15.

How do you determine the Winner of the Contest?
All SMS entries received will be collated on a weekly basis and a random pick of all entries will be carried out to short-list potential prize winners. The short-listed candidates will be contacted by phone for a question and answer session. Short-listed candidates who answer the questions correctly will win the weekly prizes.
16.

What are the prizes of this Contest?
There will be 3 weekly prizes to be given away as follows:
Free Petrol Voucher X 1 winner
Free Grocery Voucher X 1 winner
Free Electricity for 1 year X 1 winner
17.

Is there a limit for petrol, grocery and electricity?
The prizes above are capped at RM5,000 each (choice from selected list of suppliers).

How do you award the prizes to the winners?
Petrol and groceries will be rewarded in the form of cash vouchers whilst electricity will be paid on reimbursement basis by crediting to the winner’s Current or Savings account.
19.

What if I withdraw the money or close my account during the campaign period?
Your contest entry becomes null and void.

Terms & Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”)
Campaign Information and Eligibility
1. RHB Bank Berhad (“RHB”) “RHB Deposit Campaign” (“Campaign”) will run from 1 July 2008 until 31 August 2008 or
until a total of RM200million in MaxFD deposits is received, whichever is earlier.
2. All RHB customers (Individuals & Companies) who are residents of Malaysia and deposit a minimum of RM10,000 in
MaxFD (“FD”) during the Campaign period, will be eligible to participate in this Campaign (“Eligible Customers”)
3. Every RM10,000 deposited will entitle Eligible Customers to one (1) contest entry.
4. The deposit placement must be made with new funds, i.e. funds not transferred from existing RHB Bank
savings/current/fixed deposit account(s).
5. The following persons shall not be eligible to participate in this Campaign:
a. Permanent and/or contract employees of RHB (including its subsidiaries and related companies) and their immediate
family members;
b. Representatives and/or agents (including advertising and promotion agents) of RHB and their immediate family
members.
6. Eligible Customers to:
Register their participation for the Campaign by sending a short messaging service text (“SMS”) to 39993 stating campaign
code RHBMaxFD followed by I/C number and Name or Company Registration Number and Company Name to participate
in this Campaign (“Participants”).
For example:
i) For companies : RHBMaxFD<space>Company Registration Number <space> Company Name<space>Director’s
Name and send to 39993 on the same day the fund is deposited.
ii) For individual : RHBMaxFD<space>IC Number<space>Name and send to 39993 on the same day the fund is
deposited.
7. For the purpose of this Campaign, joint accountholders will be treated as one accountholder. Each winner can only win one
(1) prize.
8. If, at any time during the campaign period, the customer withdraws or closes the account for any reason whatsoever, the
eligibility to this contest becomes null and void.
9. Should the selected winners prematurely uplift their MaxFD, the cost of prizes will be deducted from the total deposits.
10. Potential Winners will be selected based on the following:
a. Each transaction (“Qualifying entry”) is tracked and sorted by date and given a serial number
b. Weekly winners will be determined at the end of the Campaign Period. An “X-number” (“X”) will be applied to
shortlist the entries.
c. Definition of x-variable number
i. X = the total number of entries (for particular week) divided by factor of 3.
ii. X may be different each week, depending on the total number of entries for that particular week.
d. Each short-listed Customers will be contacted via telephone to answer two (2) simple questions. If the customer
answers the two (2) questions correctly, they will be declared the winner for the particular prize.
e. Should there be a case, whereby, a participant is unable to answer the questions correctly, the next entry will be
selected to answer the questions.
For example: Participant with entry X failed to answer both questions correctly, participant with entry “X+1” will be
contacted to answer the two (2) questions. If the participant is able to answer the questions correctly, the participant
will win the particular prize.

c. If in any case the winner has no access to the hypermarkets and supermarkets listed above, the customer will advise
RHB on the next best solution that uses grocery vouchers.
d. Winners of the Electricity prizes will be required to submit their monthly electricity bill to the nearest branch for
reimbursement. RHB will credit the amount into winners account on a monthly basis (subject to a maximum
reimbursement period of up to 12 months or an aggregate sum of RM5,000 whichever comes first).
12. Prizes won are not exchangeable for cash. Prizes will be given or issued in the name of the accountholder and winners are
not allowed to transfer their prizes to any other person.
13. In the event that any prizes are awarded to and received by persons who:
a. are not Eligible Customers in the Campaign; and/or
b. have committed or are suspected of committing any fraudulent or wrongful acts in relation to their banking accounts,
credit card or loans and/or any transactions made thereof;
RHB reserves the right to disqualify such persons from participating in the Campaign and/or from redeeming their prizes.
14. The deposit is also subject to the Rules of the Association of Banks in Malaysia and to any amendments introduced
subsequently.
General Terms & Conditions
15. RHB shall not be liable for any default in respect of the Campaign due to any act of God, war, riot, strike, lockout, industrial
action, fire, flood, drought, storm, technical or system failures or any event beyond the reasonable control of RHB.
16. RHB’s decisions on all matters relating to the Campaign, including the determination of Eligible Customers and
Participants, shall be final and no further correspondence will be entertained.
17. Winners will be notified by RHB in any manner it deems fit.
18. RHB reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend the Campaign without any prior notice. Any cancellation,
termination or suspension of the Campaign by RHB shall not entitle the Participant to any claim or compensation against
RHB for any loss or damage incurred by the Participant as a direct and indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination
or suspension.
19. RHB reserves the right at its absolute discretion to vary, delete or add to any of these Terms & Conditions from time to time
without giving any prior notice.
20. By participating in the Campaign, Participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and allow RHB and their
agencies at their sole discretion the right to use, publish and display the names and other particulars of the participant
including but not limited to their photographs and/or I/C numbers and/or audio and/or visual recording for advertising and
publicity purposes.
21. Participants shall assume full liability and responsibility in case of any liability, mishap, injury, damage, claim or accidents
resulting from their participation in this contest, redemption and/or use of the prizes.
22. Winners are required to attend a prize presentation ceremony and other publicity programmes as and when required at their
own cost and expense.
23. All transportation, accommodation, administration costs and personal costs including but not limited to any other costs, fees
and/or expenses that are incurred to participate in this campaign and/or redemption and/or usage of the prizes shall be the
sole responsibility of the winners.
24. In the event of any inconsistencies between the translations of the English or Bahasa Malaysia version, the English version
shall prevail.
