PRIZE: Proton Persona 1.6AT as the grand prize and there would be weekly prizes to be won.
Green Heights Mall offers mix of products, services
KUCHING: Green Heights Mall, the city’s neighbourhood small mall opened its door for business yesterday offering customers a practical mix of products and services for their everyday needs.
The event also coincided with the opening of Cold Storage Supermarket, a Singapore-based outlet which has seen massive growth over the years with several outlets in the republic and Peninsular Malaysia.
Green Heights Mall general manager Allister Hilton said the mall was unique as it was Kuching’s first suburban concept mall, an idea born out of survey feedback from the surrounding residents and thus the tagline – A neighbourhood small mall.
He said Green Heights Mall would be playing its part in addressing global warming impacts through its ongoing Green Campaign.
“This is done by incorporating sustainable business practices into the operations of the mall,” he said citing the usage of eco-friendly shopping bags and allocating recycling drop-off points at the basement car par and near the main entrance.
Reverend Datuk Father Lawrence Chua from Blessed Sacrament Church blessed the mall at the official opening ceremony yesterday attended by managing director of PSB Properties Sdn Bhd Datuk Amar Leonard Linggi Jugah, Green Heights Mall executive director David Hilton Smith and general manager Allister Hilton Smith and Green Heights Neighbourhood Committee president Jesse Ling.
Cold Storage chief operating officer Tom Herriott, Giant and Gold Storage (East Malaysia) general manager Tony Kelly and Green Heights Cold Storage operations manager Charles van Coller and store manager Michael Tubi were also present.
Meanwhile, customers who spent RM20 in one day at either Green Heights Mall or Tun Jugah would be eligible to take part in a ‘Shop All You Can’ lucky draw which offers a Proton Persona 1.6AT as the grand prize and there would be weekly prizes to be won.
In a press conference later, Allister said the mall emphasised on service, cleanliness and safety – in line with current customers’ needs.
He said the mall would be providing a ‘concierge’ service to assist shoppers in terms of security escort, taxi call service, lost and found services and umbrella escort.
More outlets are expected to open at the two-storey mall end of this month and next month.
Green Heights Mall opens from 9am to 10pm daily.
