The 7th Shizuoka International Translation Competition



PRIZE: Recipients of the Grand Prize will be invited to Japan to enhance their translation skills and knowledge of Japanese culture at a university or institute in Shizuoka Prefecture.
DEADLINE: December 10, 2008

This translation competition is held to encourage the appreciation of Japanese literature around the world and to promote international understanding. The competition is open to entrants from every part of the world.

The Shizuoka International Translation Competition was established by Shizuoka Prefecture in 1995, with the goals of introducing outstanding works of Japanese literature to foreign audiences and of promoting international understanding.
Entries from persons of all nationalities and ages welcome. However, people who have had their translations of literary or related materials published are not eligible.
Also, joint translations (works translated by more than one person) are not eligible for this competition
