MIRI: Bodybuilders here will have the chance to flex their muscles in the Mr Miri Championship 2008 on June 28.

Miri Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association secretary Hanafi Abu Bakar, said a Miri team would be picked at the event for the Mr Sarawak Championship 2008 to be hosted by Miri on July 12.

Mr Miri 2008 to be held at Level 3, Boulevard Shopping Complex, from 1pm to 5pm, is open to weightlifters and bodybuilders throughout northern Sarawak.

There are nine categories — junior, master, flyweight, bantam weight, lightweight, welterweight, light middleweight, middleweight and light heavyweight. The entry fee is RM15 each.

According to Hanafi, 12 entries have been received so far. The closing date is June 25.

“We call on musclemen in the northern region to join Mr Miri 2008, especially those from Bintulu and Limbang. So far, we only have two from Bintulu but none from Limbang,” he said.

Attractive prizes are up for grabs and many corporate companies have sponsored supplements and hampers. “We hope to receive more donations in cash,” Hanafi said.

BMW CLUB MALAYSIA’S GRAND TT & MINI BIMMERFEST 2008

BMW Club Malaysia will be organizing one of the largest gathering of BMW enthusiasts in Malaysia at Borneo Rainforest Cafe, Bistro and The Ruai at Sunway on 14 June, in conjunction with its bi-annual Grand Teh Tarik event (“Grand TT”).

The event will feature participation from a host of prominent automotive sponsors, modeled after the renowned Bimmerfest events in Europe and North America. Hence, this event will be the first of its kind for BMW enthusiasts in Malaysia and is expected to attract hundreds of enthusiasts and their cars from all over the country.

It is expected that this event will feature the largest display of products and accessories for BMWs as well as exceptional presentations from participating establishments.

Other activities for the event shall include Best Car Competition for each BMW model segment and classification, GC Motorsports Beauty Contest, Pit lane tyre-changing competition, Push My Ride competition, various presentations and promotional activities by sponsors and participants and others.

BMW Club Malaysia is already one of the most prominent and active car clubs in the Asia Pacific region despite being relatively new. It has a strong track record of organizing many events for its members and the enthusiast community at large such as track days, holiday drives, car clinics, technical workshops, social events and others. It is keen to build on its range of activities in line with its fast growing membership and higher awareness of all things great about the BMW ownership experience in Malaysia.

jap engines under the HOOD!! )

Rules and Regulations

1. The contest is opened to owners of a valid BMW model
2. Owners are responsible for their cars during the event, the Club will not
be responsible for loss and damages.
3. Owners to be present during the event for the Judges to view the
vehicle.
4. Decision of the Judges is final.
5. Stickers of sponsors will be stuck on the cars during the event, cars
without the stickers will be disqualified.
6. Information for the car, i.e. year of make, type of modifications, info to
be printed and placed on the dashboard is allowed though Not
compulsory.

Agenda and Program

1. Participants are to arrive and park their cars from 3.30pm onwards. The
gates will be opened from 3.30pm NOT before that. At 4.15pm sharp,
the gates will be closed.Therefore be early for the event.

2. Kindly adhere to the directions of the concourse marshals and inform
them for classification of the event.The Marshals shall point you to
your location to park.

3. All participants to fill up the forms submitted by a Coordinator.

4. Concourse Event will commence on 4.15pm till 5.00pm.

5. Judges will be making their rounds, kindly be around if the need to open
your cars for viewing.

6. Upon judging is finished, the vehicles are to remain as it was.

7. Participants are advised to stay for the Prize Presentation at Ruai at
7.00pm onwards. If the winner is not around, the prize will be given to
the next winner.
