RACE

1. When and where will the race be held?
The Genting Trailblazer 2008 will be held on Sunday, 2nd November 2008. Start and finishing point is at Awana Genting Highlands Football Field for all races.

2. What are the race categories?
There are 2 main categories: Competitive and Adventure.

Competitive (14km)
· Men
· Women
· Mixed

Adventure (14km)
· Men
· Women
· Mixed
· Veteran (combined age of 90 years and above of any gender)

* Participants for all categories must be 18 years and above.

3. What is the composition of the team?
The team can consist of two male, two female, or one male and one female. The veteran category can have two persons of any gender as long as their combined age adds up to more than 90 years of age.

4. Is there any minimum or maximum age for participants?
The minimum age for Competitive and Adventure categories is 18 years of age. There is no maximum age for any category.

5. What should I wear for the race? Is there any special equipment required?
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and shoes with good traction. Other recommended gear will be a hydration pack and basic first aid kit.

Please bring along a set of clean clothes, bath towel and shoes/sandals to change into after the Race as you are guaranteed to be wet and muddy by the time your team reaches the Finish Line. There will be showers and changing rooms at the Finish Area.

6. If I could not finish the race, can I still get the finisher medal and certificate of achievement?
No. You must finish the race in order to get the medal and certificate.

7. What is a goodie bag?
The goodie bag is an exclusive event pack which will consist of a whole host of sponsored goodies.

You cannot start your race without the bib number and all participants must collect their goodie bag at:-

10. Can I bring along my pets?
No. Walking or running with pets is strictly disallowed in this race.

TEAM CATEGORIES

11. What is Competitive category and Adventure category?
All participants in all categories will be running the same path, facing the same obstacles and wading through the same gruelling mud challenge. The main difference is that participants of the Competitive Run categories will be vying for the cash prizes.

12. If I have already registered for the Competitive category, can I switch race category and run in the Adventure category?
No. Race category is non-transferable.

REGISTRATION

13. How can I register?
You can register and make payment ONLINE.

14. How will I know if my entry has been accepted?
A confirmation slip will be shown on the screen once entry form and payment are submitted and confirmed. A copy of the confirmation slip will also be sent to the valid email account provided by you.

Please remember to save and print out a copy of the confirmation slip.

You will need to produce your confirmation slip together with your NRIC/Passport when you collect your goodie bag and bib number at the Reception Counter of Awana Genting Hotel Lobby (1st November 2008) or Football field of Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort (2nd November 2008).

15. Do I get a refund if I choose not to participate after registration?
No. Registration fee is not refundable.

16. Can I make changes to my personal particulars after submitting my registration?

17. Can I change race categories after I have registered?
No.

18. I am not a resident of Malaysia, how shall I arrange for accommodation?

It is a lecture-style presentation conducted by specialists in the field of sports science and medicine, sports equipment and of course, long distance running. The race clinic is designed to prepare you for your race.

PARTICIPANT’S RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Every competitor is responsible for his/her involvement in the race and is the sole judge of whether he/she should begin or continue competing in the race. However, the Race Organiser reserves the absolute right and discretion to ban a competitor from starting or continuing the race, if in the Race organiser’s opinion that the competitor is likely to cause him/her self injury either by starting or continuing the race. The race organiser’s decision will be final.
2. Participants who are not certain of their physical and/or mental capacities to participate in this race are advised to consult their family doctor prior to participation.
3. Participants must ensure that they are well-rested prior to the race day and are well-hydrated.
4. If participants feel unwell during the race, they must stop and ask for medical attention from the support crews along the race route.
5. Please use comfortable clothes and shoes and that you do not mind getting wet and muddy.

ORGANISER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

1. The Race Organiser will provide First-Aid service during the race. There will be First Aid stations along the race route. There will also be mobile support crews along the route to provide First Aid assistance.
2. One water re-hydration point shall be available along the race route course.
3. Race officials at all Check points will have communication accessibility to the Race Organisers.

RACE BRIEFING
All competitors must attend a compulsory race briefing prior to the race. Failure to attend the briefing will result in automatic disqualification from the race.

RACE RULES
General

1. Both team members must stay together on the race course at all times and cross the finish line together.
2. Any team that reports after the stipulated times will not be allowed to participate in the race.
3. Race Bibs must be worn on the outside of clothing at all times.
4. Participants must be of sound physical condition, free of any type of bodily ailment. If in any case that an individual is allowed by the Race Organiser to participate, it is still his/her responsibility to inform the Race Organiser or doctors of any possible factors that may trigger or aggravate a specific ailment
5. In the event of over subscription, teams will be selected on a first come, first serve basis. Not withstanding this, the Race Organiser has absolute discretion to decide whether or not to accept a team’s registration. The Race Organiser’s decision will be final.
6. Any teams, team members or participants may choose not to participate in any section of the racecourse will not qualify to win awards, but will be permitted to complete the race. Teams or participants electing not to participate in any section of the race course must report to a race official at the section to state their intention and receive instructions for alternative route around the area.
7. The Race Organiser reserves the right to change the rules or the course at any given time ANY FAILURE BY A COMPETITOR TO ADHERE TO THE ABOVE-MENTIONED RULES AND REGULATIONS CAN RESULT IN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION OF THE ENTIRE COMPETING TEAM.
8. The Race Organiser reserves the right to use, promote and publish participants’ photos and particulars in the press and any other media where applicable for publicity and advertising purposes.

RACE TIMING

1. The Race Organiser shall activate the official time clock when the race is flagged down and stop it after the race cut-off time.
2. The team must start the race and finish the race together. Prior to entering the finishing lanes, both team members must be together. The team’s timing shall be deemed to stop when both team members cross the finish line.

CHECKPOINTS

1. To complete the entire race, teams must pass through all Checkpoints.
2. Should a team miss a Checkpoint, they must backtrack to the missed Checkpoint to get token/slip.

TEAM WITHDRAWAL and DISQUALIFICATION

1. The team cannot continue and will be automatically disqualified should one member drop out of the race. However, the remaining team members may continue the race unranked if they wish to do so on a non-competitive basis.
2. Any voluntary withdrawal of a team or team member must be made at the nearest Checkpoint, except in medical emergency cases.
3. The Race Organiser reserves the right to decide if the team or person may continue for health safety or other reasons.
4. The Race Organiser reserves the right to disqualify a team or person for not following the instructions of the Race Organiser or any race official / marshal. The Race Organiser’s decision is final.

8TV together with NIVEA is again bringing you The Ultimate Prom Nite, an evening of glamour and glitz, and organised especially for college and university students nationwide. The Ultimate Prom Nite is the first Intercampus Prom Night in Malaysia to gather students from different campuses all over the country.

This year’s search for the Ultimate Prom King and Queen will begin with a series of auditions at four campuses in the Klang Valley and eight in Penang, Melaka dan Johor. There will also be a special open audition session at 8TV, Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama.

How do you nominate your college buddies or yourself for the title of Ultimate Prom King or Queen? Just attend any of the road shows as scheduled in the table below.

Two candidates from each college and two selected from the final road show at 8TV, Sri Pentas make up the Top 26 candidates (13 males and 13 females) that will advance into the final audition. They will then go through a grooming lesson by NIVEA and participate in a confidence-building activity (acting lessons and hosting classes) conducted by popular local celebrities.
The hunt will ultimately be shortlisted to six male and six female candidates, where each of them will have to undergo various individual and group challenges leading up to the grand finale. These final twelve candidates will be featured on http://www.8tv.com.my

, where peers and fans will have the chance to vote for them. Thereafter, they will present themselves at the grand finale, which will be held at Segi College on 5 December at 8pm where they will face one final test.

Employees of PB is not eligible for this category of prizes.
6. Auto-billing, Zero Interest Instalment Plan (non terminalised), mail order, cash advance,
flexipay and balance transfer instalment and other similar transactions are excluded from
this promotion.
7. Principal and Supplementary card account must be current, valid and in good standing to
be eligible for the prize.
8. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
9. Product prizes are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, in part or in full.
10. The Bank reserves the sole and absolute right to substitute the advertised prizes with
prizes of equivalent retail value without prior notice, if the prizes as advertised are not
available for any reason whatsoever.
11. The Bank will not be liable for any misinterpretation or misrepresentation of facts in
respect of the prizes offered and/or publishes in any mass media, marketing or
advertising material.
12. By participating in this promotion, cardmembers agree to be bound by the official rules
and regulation stated herein, including decision of the Bank which are final, binding and
conclusive. No further correspondence will be entertained. Selection of winners is at the
sole discretion of the Bank and MasterCard Worldwide.
13. The Bank reserves the right to withdraw the contest, change, amend, delete or add to any
of these terms and conditions without prior notice to the cardmembers and the
cardmembers agree to be bound by such amendment.
14. Bonus Prize will be couriered 6 to 8 weeks from the end date of the promotion period.
The prizes will not be couriered to an address bearing a Post Office Box (P.O. Box)
number or an overseas address. Prizes returned by courier must be claimed at PB Card
Services (PBCS), Level 10, Menara Public Bank, 146 Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur
within 2 weeks. Otherwise, the prizes shall be forfeited and no claims will be entertained
thereafter.
15. Winners may be required to attend a Prize Presentation Ceremony at their own expense
and may be involved in the publicity relating to the contest.
16. The Bank reserves the right to publish or display information of winning cardmembers
for promotional purposes.
17. The Terms and Conditions herein are in additional to the Terms and Conditions in the
MasterCard 2008 Malaysia Mega Sale Promotion.
