How to be eligible for the Daily Prize?

* 1 unit of Mini Cool Fridge (“the Daily Prize”) will be given to each of 5 selected winners daily
* Submit application for Anytime Money within 19th Feb 2008 – 28th March 2008.
* Only approved applications stand to win the Daily Prize.
* For a new customer who does not have a Demand Deposit with HSBC, you need to accept your approved Anytime Money application by activating your new Demand Deposit account with HSBC to stand a chance to win the Daily Prize.
* For existing Demand Deposit customers, eligibility would be granted automatically when your application for Anytime Money is approved.
* Every RM 1,000 of the financing amount = 1 entry.

Programme Terms & Conditions
1. The HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad (“HSBC”) “Get Rewarded!” Programme (“this Programme”)
will run from 19th February 2008 – 28th March 08 (both dates inclusive) (“the Programme
Period”).
2. The following persons are NOT eligible to participate in this Programme:
2.1 Permanent and/or contract employees of HSBC (including those of HSBC’s subsidiaries
and related companies) and their immediate family members (spouses, children, parents,
brothers and sisters); and/or
2.2 Representatives and/or agents (including advertising and promotion agents) of HSBC and
their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, brothers and sisters); and/or
2.3 Individuals below the age of 18 years.
3. To participate in this Programme:
3.1 The eligible participant must apply for an Amanah Personal Financing-i facility of a
minimal financing amount of RM 6,000 and subject to the maximum financing amount of
RM 100,000 (“the APF-i Facility”).
3.2 The APF-i Facility application must be submitted for approval within the Programme
Period.
3.4 The applicant who fulfills the preliminary criteria set out in this Condition 3 shall be
referred to as “the Eligible Participant” and is eligible for selection to win a Daily Prize in
accordance with Condition 4 below.
4. Daily Prizes and mechanics for this Programme:
4.1 Daily Prize
4.1.1 One unit of Mini Cool Fridge (“the Daily Prize”) will be given to each of the five
(5) winning Eligible Participants selected based on the following criteria and who
fulfill the requirements of Condition 4.2.3 below:

4.1.2 One hundred and forty five (145) Daily Prizes will be given away for winning
Eligible Participants selected from Approved Applications.
4.1.3 The number of Daily Prizes for approved applications is calculated based on the
number of working days (Monday – Friday) within the Programme Period on the
basis that approval for applications is granted on a working day.
4.2 Winner Selection Process- Daily Prizes
4.2.1 Each entry generated from approved applications as per clause 4.1.1 above will
be assigned a random serial number.
4.2.2 The total serial numbers received at the end of each working day during the
Programme Period will be divided by 5 (being the number of Daily Prizes that can
be won in a day) in order to select the potential Daily Prize winners (“Potential
Daily Prize Winner”). All the serial numbers selected after the division will be the
closest lower whole number. For example:
 If there are a total of 1,000 serial numbers at the end of 19th February 2008,
the total serial number will be divided by 5 and rounded to the closest lower
whole number. Therefore, the Potential Daily Prize Winner will have the
serial numbers of 200, 400, 600 and so on until all 5 Potential Daily Prize
Winners have been selected.

HSBC’s decision on the selection of the Potential Daily Prize Winner(s) will be
final.
4.2.3 The Potential Daily Prize Winner(s) will be contacted via phone at their telephone
number provided for and maintained in HSBC’s records and will be required to
answer two (2) questions. Should the first attempt to call the Potential Daily Prize
winner(s) fail i.e. no reply, telephone number not in service, no connection, etc.
another 2 attempts will be made within the next 2 hours of the first phone call to
the Potential Daily Prize Winner(s). Where such further attempts are
unsuccessful, HSBC reserves the right to select the Eligible Participant with the
subsequent serial number e.g. where Potential Daily Prize Winner(s) with serial
number 125 for that participating day could not be contacted, the Eligible
Participant with serial number 126 for that participating day will be selected as
the next Potential Daily Prize Winner for that participating day and the same
process will be repeated until a Potential Daily Prize Winner is selected.
4.2.3.1 Any Potential Daily Prize Winner(s) who fails to answer the two (2)
questions correctly will not receive his/her Daily Prize. The Eligible
Participant bearing the subsequent serial number will be short-listed –
refer to clause 4.2.3 above for an illustration.
4.2.3.2 The above selection process shall be used to determine the Daily Prize
Winners for each participating day throughout the Programme Period.
4.2.4 The selected winner shall hereinafter be referred to as “the Daily Prize Winner”.
4.2.5 The Daily Prize Winners are selected from 5 working days of the week, on the
basis that approval for applications is on a working day, notwithstanding whether
the particular working day has been determined as a public holiday or otherwise.
The Daily Prize Winners will be determined per weekly basis (every Friday) and
selection of the Daily Prize Winners will be conducted in accordance to the table
below. Should the selection date fall on a public holiday, that selection will be
conducted on the next working day:

4.2.6 The Daily Prize Winner will receive his/her Daily Prize within 30 days from the
date of HSBC’s approval of the application and, where applicable, the activation
of his/her Demand Deposit account with HSBC.
5. General Terms
5.1 HSBC reserves the right to publish or display the name, picture, identification number
and city of residence of the winners of the Daily Prizes for advertising and publicity
purposes. By participating in this Programme, the winners hereby consent to and agree
that HSBC shall be at liberty to publish their names, pictures, city of residence and
identification numbers for advertising and publicity purposes.
5.2 HSBC shall not be liable for any default or failure to perform this Programme or any part
thereof, due to any act of God, war, riot, strike, terrorism, epidemic, lockout, industrial
action, fire, flood, drought, storm or any event beyond the reasonable control of HSBC.
5.3 HSBC reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Programme with or without
any prior notice. For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation, termination or suspension by
HSBC of this Programme shall not entitle the Eligible Participant to any claim or
compensation against HSBC for any and all losses or damage suffered or incurred by the
Eligible Participant as a direct or indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or
suspension.
5.4 No warranty, expressed or implied is given by HSBC regarding the quality,
merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose of the Daily Prize. Under no
circumstances and in no event shall HSBC be liable for any losses, damages and/or
injury whether direct or indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive or special
damages howsoever arising due to the Daily Prize and/or the use thereof.
5.5 HSBC reserves the right at its absolute discretion to amend, delete or add to any of these
Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice.
5.6 These Terms and Conditions, as the same may be amended from time to time pursuant
to Condition 5.4, shall prevail over any provisions or representations contained in any
other promotional materials advertising this Programme.
5.7 The varied terms and conditions shall not be in contravention of Shariah rulings and
guidelines as issued by HSBC Shariah Committee and Shariah Advisory Council of Bank
Negara Malaysia.
5.8 In the event where there is/are any inconsistency(ies), conflict(s), ambiguity(ies) or
discrepancy(ies) between the English and Bahasa Malaysia version of these Terms and
Conditions, the English version of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
5.9 By participating in this Programme, Eligible Participants agree to be bound by these
Terms and Conditions.
5.10 In the case of any dispute, HSBC’s decision is final and no correspondence will be
entertained.
5.11 This Programme ends on 28th March 2008. For the avoidance of doubt, applications for
the APF-i Facility submitted after 28th March 2008 will not be eligible for this Programme.
