KUCHING: Lucky draw prize winners in the upcoming Press Run 2008 are in for a pleasant surprise when they learn that they could walk away with a round trip for two to Macau from Kuching on board AirAsia, a Panasonic Home Theatre system and a complimentary stay at one of the finest hotels in Sarawak.
To top that, the winner of the grand prize could also walk away with Adidas product vouchers and hampers from Nestle products and Dahfa Foods. The value of the prizes alone for the single grand prize winner in the lucky draw easily exceeds RM5,000.
These are among the many prizes shaping up as the organising committee has already begun to allocate prizes for the various winners in the Press Run which will be flagged off on January 27 next year.
To qualify for the lucky draw, participants have only to complete the route successfully and get their numbers recorded by the track marshals. Lucky draws shall be conducted by drawing from the numbers taken from such participants who have completed the entire route.
The run is divided into three categories – the Men’s Open (15 km) Women’s Open (10 km) and Children’s Open for those aged between nine and 12 (5 km). The event is expected to attract about 3,000 participants.
“The odds are very high and the chances of picking up any of the attractive prizes are quite good for those who take part in this run,” said a spokesman of the organising committee.
There shall be three grand prizes and seven consolation prizes at the lucky draw. The remaining lucky draw prizes are: a return flight for two to Vientiene in Laos on board AirAsia, a Panasonic home appliance, and hampers from Nestle Products and Dahfa Foods together with an Adidas product voucher.
The third grand prize shall be a round trip for two to Pulau Langkawi from Kuching via KLIA on board Malaysia Airlines, a Panasonic home appliance and hampers from both Nestle and Dahfa Foods.
The remaining consolation prizes are :
4th prize: Return air passage from Kuching to Singapore on boards SilkAir, Panasonic home appliance,
Adidas product vouchers from Lea Centre, Milo hamper, Dahfa hamper.
5th Prize: Return air passage for two from Sibu to Kota Kinabalu on board MASWings, Panasonic home appliance, Adidas product voucher,
Nestle hamper, Dahfa hamper.
6th to 10th prize winners in the lucky draw can walk away with Adidas product vouchers, a round trip to a domestic destination on board AirAsia, hampers from Nestle and Dahfa.
The Press Run 2008 is the first of its kind in which six local newspapers have come together to support and organise the event. They are Eastern Times, Utusan Sarawak, Sin Chew Daily, Berita Petang Sarawak, International Times and United Daily News which boast a combined circulation of 200,000 and a readership exceeding 450,000 in Sarawak.
The spokesman advised that while entries were still open, intending participants should hurry and register themselves in entry forms which appear daily in the six dailies, the Kuching City South Council (MBKS) and the Kuching City North Council (DBKU).
