DESCRIPTION:
The ‘Alleycats Music Video Competition’ is jointly organised by NGT Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd and Universal Music Malaysia, with the support from Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC). The competition, held as a tribute to the late Loganathan Arumugam of Alleycats is in line with the government’s initiative in encouraging contentpreneurs to develop local content and to be able to identify creativity in the minds of Malaysians.
It is hoped that this competition shall bring opportunities to develop content that may convert ordinary creative people into successful contentpreneurs. In addition, this competition addresses several objectives –

The opportunity for new creative talents to be identified and encouraged with opportunities to participate in the music industry
Creating more commercial grade and quality local content that will be made available to the public on both traditional and new media platforms
Provide awareness on the details of the digital business and creating the understanding of terms such as transcoding, codecs, digital rights management and help participants utilize the knowledge gained to participate in the creative industry at a commercial level
To provide incentive for them to create something creative and memorable with high commercial value and allow the producers to benefit from the continued sale of their work.
Allowing inputs of fresh breath of creativity to make Alleycats fresh and new again and ensure that Alleycats live on forever.
What you need to do :
Participants are required to submit a 90 seconds visual interpretation of their favourite Alleycats hit. From all the entries, Universal Music Malaysia and NGT Solutions will shortlist the best interpretations of each song to a final list of between 12 to 18 tracks. Each of the shortlisted entries will then receive additional funding to complete the music video that they have started.

At the end of the day, Universal Music will make all the music videos commercially available in both digital and traditional platforms – through mobile and online services as well as on VCD and DVD, and the producers of each of the videos will benefit in terms of royalty on the sale of their work in each and every format.
